Tibbo Technology

Tibbo Technology

Tibbo Technology was founded in 2001. At the time, we were among the pioneers in developing serial-over-IP (SoI) controllers (a.k.a. “device servers” or “serial-to-Ethernet converters”), modules, and related PC software. Tibbo’s SoI products remain popular to this day. The success of the SoI product line became the stepping stone to a much more ambitious goal that was the very reason why Tibbo Technology was founded: We undertook to become a leader in hardware and software solutions that simplify and speed up the creation of IoT and automation devices.

PLUS1: A Linux Chip for IoT and Industrial Control Applications

Solution Description

Other

PLUS1 is a revolutionary SoC that has the power of a Linux-grade chip and the integration simplicity of a microcontroller.
Conceived by Sunplus Technology in collaboration with Tibbo Technology, PLUS1 takes all the sophisticated elements typically found in modern industrial-grade embedded Linux chips, adds a plethora of features targeting IoT and industrial control applications, and delivers the resulting design in a simple microcontroller-like package that needs few external components, simplifies the schematic diagram, and reduces the PCB complexity.Although there are many embedded Linux CPUs on the market, few were designed to address the needs of the IoT and industrial control markets directly. In fact, most CPUs found on popular boards such as Raspberry Pi were initially meant for something else (for example, a set-top box) and were merely repurposed for the needs of the IoT and industrial control communities.Recognizing the unmet needs of IoT and industrial control vendors, in late 2017 Sunplus Technology Co., Ltd. and Tibbo Technology, Inc. have set out to develop a Linux-grade chip that would address these markets directly. The idea was to create a powerful SoC with IO features and packaging targeting specifically the IoT and the industrial control applications, as well as the needs of low-to-medium-volume hardware manufacturers. Tibbo Remote IO Solution
Tibbo Remote IO solution allows you to monitor and control the state of digital and analog lines of Tibbo Remote IO controllers, and also to monitor external sensors connected to Remote IO Controllers.Built on the Tibbo Project System (TPS) platform, Remote IO Controllers are infinitely flexible, as the majority of their capabilities come from installed Tibbit blocks. Need an extra input or output, or want to connect an additional sensor? Add the right Tibbit! Have no use for something? There is no need to keep it in the Controller. You can choose from several standard Remote IO Controller configurations, or create a custom Controller layout using our Online Configurator. Remote IO Controllers run a dedicated open-source firmware application. This application allows you to define the configuration of your Controller, i.e., describe what Tibbit modules are installed, what external sensors are connected, and so on. After the setup is complete, you can use any standard Modbus master device, Modbus software client, or SCADA software to monitor and set the IO lines of the Controller, as well as to monitor external sensors connected to it. The Remote IO app is also compatible with our AggreGate server. SNMP support will be added in the near future.Tibbo Remote IO solution targets SCADA, as well as distributed control and data collection applications. WM2000 Programmable Wireless IIoT Module
The WM2000 is the first programmable wireless Industrial IoT (IIoT) module offered by Tibbo. This cloud-native device incorporates Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n over 2.4GHz/5GHz) and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) interfaces that introduce several new features, such as Wi-Fi auto-connects, wireless debugging, over-the-air (OTA) updates, and TLS support. As a vendor-agnostic module, it can connect your devices with any cloud services provider. The WM2000's hardware incorporates two high-speed serial ports. It also features software I²C/SPI ports, onboard flash and EEPROM, a real-time clock, and ten GPIO lines — two of which work as external interrupts. Nine lines can be configured to provide pulse-width modulation (PWM) output. The WM2000 is ideal for creating IIoT solutions that are free from the limitations of traditional wired networks. The simplicity of Tibbo BASIC/C — aided by Cody, our template project generator, and TIDE — ensures timely and cost-effective development of stable, dependable applications.
