National Center for High-performance Computing (NCHC) cooperates with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Argonne National Laboratory to promote the application of smart metropolis with high-speed computers and AI Deep Learning to solve congestion problems in main cities. The project further extends to cooperating with National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) and TungHai University (THU), we successfully applied the AOT urban monitoring system and sensor analysis to environmental monitoring. In practice, the system was applied to the cooperation of the Taichung City Government and the Hsinchu City Government to promote the cloud IoT of smart cities to solve the issues of monitoring data convergence and big data application in urban data governance. The results of the first phase of this project including the construction and application of the AOT monitoring system, real-time environmental monitoring in Taichung City, and traffic congestion analysis in the Central Taiwan Science Park (CTSP). The analysis of the traffic congestion in the CTSP is based on the intersection information of CTSP as the experimental environment and using MIT's traffic flow simulation system, and the traffic flows analysis system jointly developed by NCHC and Taiwan Yuan Ze University. These two systems automatically analyze the traffic flow at intersections and learn how to optimize traffic signal allocation to alleviate traffic congestion during peak time.

Nanobubble and UFB Systems For Aeration and Water Treatment
Nanobubbles are tiny bubbles that are less than 100 nanometers in size, while those larger than 100 nanometers in size are called ultra-fine bubbles (UFB). Due to their small size and unique properties, nanobubbles or UFB can provide a significantly higher level of dissolved oxygen in water systems, improving the health and vitality of aquatic life. The technology to generate nanobubbles is highly efficient, using much less energy than traditional aeration methods. The high surface area of nanobubbles and the hydroxyl radical particles allows for more effective removal of contaminants, such as viruses, bacteria, and organic matter. Aeon Matrix provides various nanobubble or UFB systems to maintain the dissolved gas level through corresponding sensors or simply execute user-defined schedules. Adding different gasses — like oxygen, carbon dioxide, and ozone — is also possible in our systems. This makes them useful in a wide range of applications, including fish farming, algae farming, agriculture, sanitization, and wastewater treatment. Aeon Matrix’s nanobubble systems have the potential to improve the health of aquatic systems, crop growth, and the efficiency of water treatment to save energy and money.

New Taipei City has been dedicated on making break through and changes from conventional procedures.(For example: documentation of patient care report, emergency calls in the dispatch center and quality control of reported data.) To catch up with the growing need of emergency services and improve both the quality and efficiency, we have established an EMS cloud system to incorperate information from different tiers, and apply it to practical use. Starting building the cloud system from 2014, we established the electrical patient care report system in 2019, with advanced communication and information technology, we can transmit efficiently on-site patient information to the cloud, so that all the tiers related to the emergency medical service can share the real-time information of patients, which greatly narrows the information gap between prehospital units and the emergency room, buying us precious time of improving survival rate.

GO SMART Day, the annual celebration of GO SMART (Global organization of smart cities), with two sessions of general assembly and award ceremony, is always held during the Smart City Summit & Expo (SCSE) Taipei. This year, GO SMART Day 2023 was successfully concluded on March 29 at the PLACE Taipei. We conducted the General Assembly through online broadcasting in the afternoon, and the physical Award Ceremony with more than 100 guests attending the reception in the evening. Taipei City Mayor Chiang extended his warm welcome to the guests from afar at the opening of the General Assembly and presented the trophies to the five award winners at the ceremony. The event attracted international smart cities experts, operators and stakeholders to interact, share and learn with one another. Indeed, it’s a very fruitful gathering.

Although there are related patents using body fluids to detect metabolites for predicting the disease occurrence, those disclosed metabolites are different from this technology, and this patent focuses on breast cancer-related metabolites to predict the recurrence and prognosis of breast cancer patients. The concentration of metabolites can be further compared with a threshold value and arranged to achieve the best metabolite panel with the best sensitivity, specificity and AUC (Area Under ROC Curve) under Receiver Operator Characteristic curve (ROC curve).

According to the guidelines of the European Association of Urology, 15% of cases of nephrolithiasis are caused by uric acid stones, which can be dissolved with medication and do not require surgery. However, currently, surgery is the only way to analyze and determine whether a stone is a uric acid stone. In the past, we found that there are eight simple clinical factors highly correlated with uric acid stones. Therefore, we have combined artificial intelligence with these eight clinical factors to accurately predict whether a patient's kidney stone is a uric acid stone after being diagnosed with nephrolithiasis.
