With communication technology and detective equipment to detect pedestrians and vehicles passing by, a safe traffic collision avoidance reminder system is developed to ensure the safety of road users and reduce accident rates. By using modern technology and applications, drivers are reminded to change, adjust driving behaviors for purposes such as promoting the mutual comity of the vehicles or giving way to pedestrians, and technological warnings against illegal parking.

Currently, Taoyuan is implementing the smart signal control plan in Daxi and Dayuan. With the use of AI automated detection and identification technology and AI algorithms, a timing plan most suitable to the current traffic flow is calculated to dynamically relieve traffic congestion. Application of AI technology includes image recognition, timing calculation, and predictive management, so as to generate the most efficient dynamic transportation management resolving traffic congestion. Under Taiwan’s mixed traffic flow and complex traffic environment, said design can maximize efficiency of road network usage.

Application of Road Management Information Law Enforcement-Taking Roadside Parking Information as an Example of Detaining Vehicles in Arrears
There are more than 92,000 cases of arrears of parking fees in Taoyuan City. However, after the cases of arrears were transferred to the Administrative Executive Office for payments, the location of the vehicles in arrears could not be known. As a result, vehicles that are in arrears continue to occupy their parking space. The parking management information system provides real-time parking information for vehicles in arrears. The system actively reports the parking positions of vehicles in arrears. The Transportation Bureau and the Taoyuan Branch of the Administrative Executive Agency set up a vehicle arrears seizure team to notify the Taoyuan Executive Office of the Ministry of Justice through the system. The executive officer of the branch arrived at the scene to carry out the car detention, and then the transportation bureau dispatched a tow truck to move the vehicle in arrears to the depository of the managed goods and announced the auction of the vehicle to pay off the arrears.

Vehicle Sharing
Within Taoyuan City, diverse shared transport modes have been developed, including public bikes, shared motorcycles, and cars. The public can choose the type of transport modes to rent by the distance and fares, then pay by electronic payment cards (EasyCard, iPASS Card) or mobile phone. Development of vehicle sharing not only enhances efficiency of space usage and lowers the rate of private vehicle ownership, but also helps the city reach their carbon reduction goal for sustainable development. Currently, there are 9,030 public bikes available for citizens at 354 locations in Taoyuan City. As for shared motorcycles from GoShare and iRent, there is an accumulated number of 2000 motorcycles. In addition, 100 iRent cars are available for rental services in the City.
