In 2020, commercial 5G network has come into our lives. Taiwan’s fixed network, Taiwan Mobile Co., Ltd and Taiwan Win TV Media CO., Ltd. launched a 5G smart sports application at the Xinzhuang Baseball Stadium. We use the 5G network to provide the characteristics of Enhanced Mobile Broadband, Massive Machine Type Communications, and Ultra-reliable and Low Latency Communications, and together with local partners in Taiwan to generate a 5G smart application solution ecosystem. This project focuses on the interactive management of fans, and uses many innovative technologies for demonstration, including the key video uses MEC and 5G, integrates 3D modeling animation and collects live light and shadow, provides dynamic and static image playback, high-quality real-time 4K panoramic photography, providing live stream of sports events, AR virtual opening display, giving fans a different visual experience, highly immersive virtual baseball games bring real-life experience, 3D Holographic projection technology is used to interact with virtual player images for pitching and playing games. Finally, it is also matched with the stadium's 3D depth technology and dynamic people counting analytics technology to provide security control requirements for the stadium. The player’s training platform uses sports technology to detect player swing speed, elevation angle, or distance is provided to the coach for immediate adjustment and improvement.

GO SMART Day, the annual celebration of GO SMART (Global organization of smart cities), with two sessions of general assembly and award ceremony, is always held during the Smart City Summit & Expo (SCSE) Taipei. This year, GO SMART Day 2023 was successfully concluded on March 29 at the PLACE Taipei. We conducted the General Assembly through online broadcasting in the afternoon, and the physical Award Ceremony with more than 100 guests attending the reception in the evening. Taipei City Mayor Chiang extended his warm welcome to the guests from afar at the opening of the General Assembly and presented the trophies to the five award winners at the ceremony. The event attracted international smart cities experts, operators and stakeholders to interact, share and learn with one another. Indeed, it’s a very fruitful gathering.

2022 GO SMART Award (GSA), entering its 4th year. Over the past 3 terms, more than 120 outstanding projects have been submitted from more than 30 cities (e.g. Amsterdam, Da Nang, Gdynia, Moscow, Prague, Taipei, etc.). This year GSA attracted 42 projects from over 20 cities. Here are the 4 categories of criteria for GSA panelists’ assessment: Cross-domain, Impact, Functionality and Innovation. This award aims to highlight the success of teamwork through collaboration, especially for teams that demonstrated diversity with stakeholders’ engagement from different domains. GO SMART Award invites several international smart city experts to serve as judges. After diversified and professional review, projects were selected to the second-round evaluation of the online pitching. This year GSA have 3 winners, and 2 special awards. The “I3 Systems and the City of Los Angeles" from the US; "Taipei Urban Intelligence Center" from Taiwan and "Qlue Smart City Project: Alam Sutera Intelligent Mobility System" from Indonesia are the winners. "New Taipei City Virtual Ward Platform" from New Taipei City Information Management Center gets the Promising City Project Special Award and "Remote Services for Assistive Technology Amidst the Pandemic" from New Taipei City Social Welfare Department wins Human Centric Special Award this year.

The system developed by this project provides a smart solution for station including digital fence system, platform pedestrian flow analysis, animal tracking expelled system, track water situation analysis system and platform digital information signage. The platform comprehensively analyses the image of around the station, train coordinates, passenger entry and exit, and water depth etc. Which can be used for follow up review and improvement of abnormal events such as track intrusion, crowd congestion and road flooding to achieve optimal train operation configuration and class spacing control. And provide abnormal event warning and troubleshooting and passenger intelligence information services. After the integration of multiple subsystem through the IOC platform, the system will automatically alert an alarm to the traffic control center and announce the train near the area to remind the driver to pay attention to the situation and enhance the safety of the train and the people or cars in the area when the detection system alarms.

There are 2 applications in Smart Health area： 1. “Long-distance specialist consultation” “Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Linkou” provides 24-hour emergency room and mobile medical team at remote areas. Through handheld diagnostic set and the cloud video, doctors could provide medical help online by using telemedicine to connect specialists to protect the health of rural residents. 2. ”Hungchi Women and Children’s Hospital Smart birth Center System” In order to build a more hospitable and safer environment for pregnant women, we have to construct a Smart Birth Center System to provide pregnant women a well-rounded childbirth care through the advanced digitalized service. Through the nursing dashboard, real-time health data of maternal and fetus can also be automatically analyzed. When something happens, the system will send out a warning message to notify the medical staff, so that the mother and fetus can receive the immediately treatment!

Delivering a comprehensive fire and disaster information service, it allows users to access evacuation information even in offline environments. Based on the user's location, it provides immediate push notifications for 21 types of disaster alerts, including heavy rain, typhoons, and earthquakes. Additionally, it updates critical maps such as shelter locations and air-raid shelters as offline resources.
