The platform also features a "Geographic Data" section, which not only releases the latest map data but also includes 24 years of historical map data, showcasing the transformation of the city's rich geography and culture. The city has also created the Taichung City Map Cloud, releasing diverse map service APIs for various government agencies. During the pandemic, a footprint map was created for the public's convenience and house number information was also made available on the OSM (Open Street Map) to realize public-private partnerships. River Waste Survey Program – Start from River There are many rivers in Taiwan but over 80% of river waste end up washed into the sea. River Waste Survey is a program co-launched by Fubon Life Insurance and The Society of Wilderness. The program promotes sustainable water supplies and safeguarding national health by training Fubon employees and members of the public to become citizen scientists. The Wu River in Taichung, Toucian River in Hsinchu, and Tamsui River were successfully surveyed over the past three years. The program will continue with the surveying of Houjin River in Kaohsiung and Beigang River in Yunlin as well this year. A report will be published using the survey data to promote public-private sector partnerships on waste removal to better protect river and marine environments.
