As the main venue for the 2024 Smart City Expo in Kaohsiung City, The first City Climate Summit (City COP) is being held, which is an initiative launched by the Kaohsiung City Government, inviting cities, organizations, and companies internationally to explore how to leverage digital technologies through smart governance to accelerate urban net-zero emissions, establishing a platform for exchanging ideas on digital net-zero at the city level. Just like the recently held COP28 in Dubai where global elites in climate, environment, technology, and net-zero gathered, it is hoped that through international exchange and communication, sustainable solutions can be sought.

Reducing carbon emissions is an international trend. We understand deeply that achieving net-zero emissions cannot be accomplished by any single country alone, but requires the joint efforts of all organizations, groups, individuals, and cities. Currently, all carbon reduction issues tend to focus on net-zero transformation policies at the "national level." We need an appropriate goal framework for "urban development" - different cities have different ecologies, different visions, and challenges. We invite all representatives to discuss net-zero carbon reduction at the city level!
