Smart City Leadership and Development Manager

Trevor is currently Smart City Leadership and Development Manager with Opportunity Peterborough, the city’s economic development body, and was part of the Peterborough team which successfully bid to be one of the UK’s four Future City Demonstrators. He continues to help develop and deliver the resultant “Future Peterborough” programme a key aspect of which is the Circular Peterborough initiative which aims to create a truly circular city by 2050. This forms part of the city wide, net zero commitment with a particular focus on driving sustainable economic development. Trevor currently chairs the British Standards Institute (BSI) Smart and Sustainable Cities and Communities Committee (SDS/2) which oversees and contributes to city focussed standards.

Prior to his smart city experience, Trevor spent almost thirty years in the public sector, most recently as Director of Environment and Community Services at Peterborough City Council, where he was responsible for the strategic management of a wide range of front-line services including regulation, development control, transport and leisure.

Mr. Ramazan Kabasakal

Mr. KABASAKAL was awarded the Certificate of Congressional Recognition by the U.S. House of Representatives for his effort to develop friendship and cooperation among the world’s capital cities. Ankara Metropolitan Municipality was also awarded several international awards during his term, primarily due to its successful international activities. Some of the international awards bestowed to Ankara Metropolitan Municipality during his tenure is listed below; Ankara Metropolitan Municipality was awarded with the First Prize of OICC (Islamic Capital and Cities) in 2000 in Cairo on the topic of Urban Generation and Urban Embellishment, Flag of Honour of the Council or Europe for 2001, Medal of Honour of Kazakhstan Republic in 2002, The Plaquet of Honour of the Council of Europe for 2003, The Best University City at Swiss Tourism Awards 2006 in Lugano, Swiss. Ankara Metropolitan Municipality was awarded with the First Prize of OICC (Islamic Capital and Cities) in 2010 on the topic of Urban and Regional Planning. He made a great contribution in enhancing the sister cities of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality which are now increased to 51 cities.
