- Net Zero City and Industrial Competitiveness
More than 133 countries, 241 cities and 821 companies around the world have committed to net zero emission targets, covering 83% of global greenhouse gas emissions, 91% of gross domestic product, and 80% of the population. In view of the global net zero emissions trend and the introduction of a border adjustment mechanisms to curtail the risk of carbon leakage in the EU, U.S., Japan or other Taiwan's major trading partners. Net zero is no longer simply a matter of environmental sustainability. It is an economic challenge that concerns the development of smart cities in Taiwan and the international competitiveness of industries.
In the era of the international race to zero campaign, digital transformation and net-zero emissions will drive industrial smart manufacturing and promote the development of smart cities.
