As Taiwan's gateway city, Taoyuan bears the dual responsibilities of industrial development and population growth while confronting the severe challenges posed by global climate change. Promoting urban resilience to achieve sustainable development has become a top priority for the Taoyuan City Government.
Taoyuan is a major industrial and population hub in Taiwan. Amidst the global trend towards net-zero emissions, the city government has enacted local net-zero self-governance regulations, aiming to achieve a net-zero city through local efforts. To this end, promoting green energy and deep energy conservation are crucial policy measures for the city's net-zero transition. Furthermore, under the policy of a nuclear-free homeland, ensuring a stable power supply through diversified green energy sources is an undeniable challenge for future urban resilience.
The first stop of the 2026 Smart City Summit pre-exhibition forum series will be held in Taoyuan, focusing on smart energy management within cities and various sectors. We are particularly keen to understand how the Taoyuan City Government is responding to major trends and policies to ensure the city's resilience. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Taoyuan Industrial Development and Investment Promotion Committee for co-hosting this event and providing invaluable assistance. We welcome factories, industrial parks, shopping malls, large community management committees, and media professionals in Taoyuan to join us in addressing this critical issue.
