Maria Galindo

EU Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Mission

Maria Galindo Garcia-Delgado assumed the role of Director-general for Digital Nation and Urban Agenda for the Government of Catalonia in July 2021. Prior to this, she held various positions in public administration, including serving as an advisor in International Digital Policy to the Minister of Digital Policy and Public Administration of the Government of Catalonia from 2018 to 2021. Maria also worked at the Barcelona City Council from 2011 to 2015, where she focused on promoting smart city business development and managed the Barcelona Institute of Technology for the Habitat (BIT Habitat). Her experience includes representing Barcelona in front of the European Commission and being a member of the high-level group on Smart Cities and Communities.

Matt Owen

Executive Director

Matt joined ICF in 2012 to manage the Forum’s events, video and audio production and online communications. In the years since then, he has steadily advanced in his competencies and responsibilities. Promoted to operations director in 2020, he assumed management of membership and sponsorship fulfillment while contributing to development and execution of ICF programs. As Executive Director, he now oversees the program, finances and operations of the Forum. Matt has traveled extensively to Taiwan, Vietnam and across North America and Europe to ICF communities. Formerly from the U.S.A. he and his family currently reside in Eindhoven in The Netherlands.

Suvi Linden

Finland
Former Parliament Member

Suvi Lindén was Minister of Communications for Finland, responsible for media and telecommunications from 2007-201, and previously Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sport, from 1999-2002. She was a Member of the Parliament for 16 years. She has 28 years of experience with the Oulu City Council. She was a Board Member for Telit Communications PLC, a global leader in enablement for IoT, and has been advising start-up companies. She has had numerous positions of trust in several organizations, including roles as ITU´s Special Envoy for the Broadband Commission for Digital Development, Commissioner in the Broadband Commission and Arctic Economic Council´s (AEC) Telecommunications Infrastructure Working Group.
The Intelligent Community Forum (ICF), a New York-based think tank, named her its
“Visionary of the Year for 2011” for her commitment to ensuring affordable broadband access to every citizen in Finland. Ms Lindén holds a Master of Science (Computer Science) degree from the University of Oulu, Finland

Peter Portheine is a Partner and Co-Founder of EIPO providing socio-economic advisory throughout Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and Bangladesh. He is a member of the Brainport Smart District, Smart City Strategies, Innovation Eco-systems. EIPO specialties include Smart Cities, Innovation eco-systems, Business Incubation, and economic transformation. EIPO was instrumental in the 2016 Navigator Strategy that Binh Duong, Vietnam implemented turning around their former agrarian and traditional manufacturing focus into an exciting emerging advanced manufacturing and innovation-centric hub, winning the 2023 Intelligent Community of the Year.
