With the widespread adoption of AI, along with the rapid growth of data centers and electric vehicles, urban electricity demand is shifting toward high-density and highly stable load patterns. Coupled with intensifying extreme climate impacts, traditional centralized power systems are facing increasing pressure in terms of resilience and dispatch capability. To address this critical energy transition challenge, the Virtual Power Plant (VPP) SIG of the Taiwan Smart City Solutions Alliance (TSSA) is promoting VPPs as a key solution—integrating distributed energy resources, energy storage, smart loads, and demand response, combined with AI and intelligent dispatch technologies—to strengthen urban energy resilience and support the transition toward net-zero development. Against this backdrop, the forum is organized under the theme “Urban Energy Resilience in the AI Era.”
The forum will focus on policy trends, the future development of Taiwan’s smart grid, international VPP case studies, domestic urban energy resilience strategies, and VPP applications across various sectors. Through panel discussions featuring representatives from government, industry, and academia, participants will exchange practical insights on urban energy dispatch and distributed resource integration. Industry stakeholders interested in virtual power plants and urban energy transformation are sincerely invited to register and join us in shaping the future of urban energy.
