Amid a landscape where labor shortages have become the industry norm, operating costs continue to rise, and sustainability requirements are intensifying, the hotel sector stands at a critical turning point—one that demands a fundamental redesign of its operational structure.
Co-hosted by the Taiwan Smart City Solutions Alliance and the Taipei Hotel Association, the forum titled “Smart City in Action: Intelligent Hotels × Sustainable Transformation Exchange Forum” focuses on how the hospitality industry can integrate AI-driven decision-making, automation technologies, and resilient space design to address workforce challenges, enhance operational efficiency, and establish stable yet scalable revenue models while maintaining sustainability commitments.
Taking a frontline operational perspective, the forum will explore how AI can serve as the core system of hotel operations—supporting workforce allocation, energy management, and service process optimization. It will also examine how automation can take over highly repetitive tasks, enabling limited human resources to focus on higher-value customer service and strategic management decisions. Furthermore, the discussion will highlight how resilient space design—through flexible, shareable, and multi-time-slot utilization—can improve space efficiency, reduce vacancy risks, generate new revenue streams, and ultimately strengthen the overall operational resilience of hotels.
