To improve air pollution, the Executive Yuan announced on December 21, 2017 that it would fully electrify 10,000 urban buses by 2030. In order to implement this policy goal, the Ministry of Transportation has developed the promotion strategy and practice of electric buses in Taiwan in 2018, put forward the implementation of various strategies and the division of labor between ministries and departments, and has included the action plan of the key strategy of the 2050 net-zero transformation, " Electrification and Decarbonization of Transportation", and continues to implement the progress of electric buses.

In order to facilitate the follow-up promotion of the electric bus, the Transportation Research Institute of the Ministry of Communications organized the "2025 Smart Net Zero Forum – Smart Charging Management System for Electric Bus", inviting relevant units to exchange and discuss issues related to the smart charging of electric buses and the net zero development of future smart cityies, as a reference for the future planning of the electric bus strategy.
