In line with the government's "Vehicle Electrification and Decarbonization" plan, Taiwan aims to fully electrify urban buses by 2030, reducing carbon emissions in both urban and rural areas. Supported by recent government procurement subsidies, public transport operators are increasing their purchase of electric buses.
However, for operators traditionally reliant on fuel-powered vehicles, this transition presents significant challenges. These include managing charging schedules, optimizing costs, battery use, and integrating operational data. The issue extends beyond simply acquiring electric buses and charging infrastructure, requiring a comprehensive approach to ensure smooth integration into public transport systems.
To address these challenges and explore new solutions for smart city energy management, we are organizing the "Electric Bus Smart Charging Forum" and a panel discussion, inviting government representatives, public transport operators, charging pile companies, and electric bus operators to collaborate on sustainable urban transportation solutions.
