The Qualcomm Innovate in Taiwan Challenge (QITC) 2022 is a continuation of an initiative by Qualcomm, that was started in 2019. This initiative is a collaboration with Taiwan’s Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and Taiwan Tech Arena (TTA) to support Taiwanese startups to develop innovative solutions in the areas of 5G, Cellular IoT, machine learning, smart cities and multimedia using Qualcomm’s technologies.

In addition to a grant available to each shortlisted startup, the Challenge offers technical support and engineering resources for product developments from Qualcomm, as well as incentives for them to submit patent applications and organized training workshops to provide advice on intellectual rights and business strategies.

To provide more complete support for the shortlisted teams, the Qualcomm Innovation Center, Taiwan was launched in 2020, a facility that serves as the base for QITC shortlisted teams to build and commercialize products and solutions, receive consultation and technical support. Since 2019, through QITC, Qualcomm has discovered and incubated 29 Taiwanese startup teams and helped them become members of our global startup ecosystem, allowing them to connect with the international market.
