MIRDC, an organization funded by the R.O.C. government, the United Nations Special Foundation, and the International Labour Organization in 1963, is engaged in the research, development, and promotion of production and management technologies required for metal and related industries. The Centre is a non-profit R&D institution, and the only research institute with headquarters based in Kaohsiung.
Over half a century of companionship and cultivation, the Centre continues to assist in industrial upgrading and transformation in response to policy development and the trend of the times, with five major industries as the core development, proactively promotes technical innovation and high-value applications. The Centre has not only strengthened the link between domestic and foreign technology R&D and the integration of talent and resources, but also established a cross-discipline R&D ecosystem. MIRDC has become a premier international metal-technology R&D institute with cross-discipline development leading to value creation for the industry.
UAV Intelligent Inspection System
Solution Description
MIRDC’s continuously Rotating Wind Turbine UAV Inspection System can effectively inspect the working wind turbine without interference. It takes 5 minutes to complete the inspection of a single blade to effectively detect 4mm small cracks. The system will not lose power generation by turning off the wind turbine, further observes the actual movement status of running blade structure and pillars to grasp the defects beforehand.
