ITS traffic data collection has solved the laborious and time-consuming task of manually calculating traffic flow in the past. It aims to achieve the goals of smoother road conditions and reduced accidents through intelligent traffic diagnosis. By utilizing intelligent transportation systems, the system automatically tracks vehicles, identifies vehicle types, predicts trajectories, and transforms the data into useful information. This assists in real-time interpretation and improvement of traffic engineering. This system is particularly crucial in Taiwan, where over 60% of traffic accidents occur at intersections. Through big data analysis, identifying issues and formulating solutions is possible, thereby lowering accident risks. This approach proves more effective than simple advocacy and alerts.

The iMADC-STD is an automated dispensing cabinet that provides a safe and accurate medication management solution in the pharmacy. It dispenses medication, controls inventory, manages user access, reduces time, and improves efficiency for the facility. During WirForce 2024, the largest LAN Party in Asia, the Omada business networking solution provided full network support for 1,400 BYOC players. Over four days, the network handled more than 6,000 wired devices and 800 wireless devices, with total data traffic exceeding 1,800TB, demonstrating exceptional performance and reliability. Through the Omada centralized cloud management platform, network administrators were able to monitor network status in real time, rapidly identify issues, and maintain high-speed, stable connectivity throughout the event. Key components included EAP773 Wi-Fi 7 access points, delivering BE11000 ultra-high-speed connections and seamless roaming, along with high-performance L2/L3 switches supporting 10G throughput and PoE power to ensure stable data transmission under extreme traffic loads. An OC300 hardware controller enabled real-time monitoring and flexible network management. By successfully addressing the challenges of ultra-high density and massive traffic demand, Omada and WirForce jointly delivered a premium esports networking experience.

To establish a civil participation mechanism to widely gather opinions from all sectors, the National Development Council has established the "Just Transition Commission." The committee follows a principle of equal representation between governmental agencies and civil society. Members serve a term of two years. The government agency representatives on the committee are deputy ministers from ministries responsible for the 12 key strategies of the 2050 net-zero transition and related issues of just transition. In addition, the members of the civil society include citizen groups focused on environmental, labor, and indigenous issues, as well as representatives from social enterprises and experts/scholars in the field of economic industries. The committee has four working groups: an academic group, a strategic review group, an issue identification group and an influence group. The public-private partnership will work together to promote a net-zero fair transition. Additionally, this year, multiple public consultation sessions are planned to gather current visions and expectations for a net-zero fair transition from all sectors, aiming to enhance public awareness of net-zero carbon emissions and fair transition.

Since 2021, Taiwan AI Cloud has launched the “AIHPC Accelerator” to foster a collaborative AI ecosystem. The AIHPC Accelerator program is designed to support AI startups in matching with smart application scenarios and commercializing their products. By complementing the roles of third-party accelerators, incubators, and startup support centers, Taiwan AI Cloud provides a comprehensive business development platform for Taiwan’s AI startups. Within just one year, the program achieved outstanding results, signing partnerships with more than 60 startups.

This project integrates cable TV systems, Civil IoT, and AI video recognition technology to build smart disaster prevention and site safety services. Centered on set-top boxes (STB) and intelligent sensing, the solution focuses on bridging the gap in real-time information and safety protection for elderly and rural populations. Through its wired network infrastructure, the system developed under this project is capable of delivering real-time disaster prevention information, including earthquakes, typhoons, and heavy rainfall alerts. In addition, AI-based recognition capabilities have been integrated into the system. Currently, the system has completed event recognition functions such as parcel placement and retrieval detection. It also performs analysis of human movement trajectories and abnormal group behavior detection. In the future, the system will be further expanded to identify dangerous situations such as violent behavior. Through this project, Taiwan Optical Platform (TOP) demonstrates the potential of integrating cable television networks with AI and IoT technologies to develop a platform for smart disaster prevention and public safety applications.
