The Ministry of Environment

The Ministry of Environment combines local governments and non-governmental organizations to promote various environmental protection work, including air pollution prevention and control programs, improving river quality, and managing and tracking the sources and ow of chemical substances. Also, we promote the circular economy, the recycling of waste, and the environmental assessment system to improve the efficiency and credibility of the review. The environment must be the overriding issue. We will actively participate in international cooperation to implement greenhouse gas reduction, promote national climate change adaptation, continuously take action on environmental issues, and provide more information about environmental protection.

Asia’s First Vehicle Noise Audit with Acoustic Camera Technology

In recent years, the number of motor vehicle noise cases has increased, and it has been a concern for people in Taiwan. In order to protect the living environment and eliminate improper vehicle modifications, the Ministry of Environment has used acoustic camera technology for law enforcement since 2021. The system contains several scientific instruments, including a license plate recognition function that helps authorities identify noisy vehicles. Technology also improves inspection efficiency and quality of noisy vehicles. Existing roadside inspections require onsite noise measurement. The stationary noise test takes at least 20 minutes for each vehicle. Law enforcement using acoustic camera technology can simultaneously record videos, take photos, identify vehicles and complete noise measurements, to increase efficiency by a factor of 200. It is no longer necessary to use a large amount of manpower to carry out checks and inspections, greatly reducing labor costs. The Acoustic Camera equipment equipment used in this exhibition is provided by OE Scientech Co., Ltd. They not only supply fixed or mobile sound-based photography equipment to Taipei City, Taichung City, Chiayi City, and Changhua County but also have extensive experience in assisting with technology enforcement operations.

Recycling waste resources into ALC lightweight building materials

In order to save the use of natural resources, implement resource recycling and reuse, reduce processing costs and reduce environmental load. We use the recycling processing technology to transfer the remaining cutting materials of the ALC body, as well as industrial by-products and domestic waste resources (waste glass) back to the ALC raw material for use. Actual testing of the product shows that the reuse technology is feasible, the quality is stable, and the efficiency of waste reduction and carbon reduction is high. Now It has obtained the environmental protection label from the Ministry of Environment and the green building materials label from the Ministry of Interior.
