ANDOPEN is a South Korean startup addressing the critical challenges of privacy and identification. Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Pangyo, South Korea, ANDOPEN is driven by the mission of protecting user privacy while enhancing the security and convenience of biometric authentication.
At the heart of ANDOPEN’s innovation is SNAPPASS - a privacy-first, multi-factor authentication system designed to safeguard sensitive biometric data. Unlike server-based biometrics, SNAPPASS exclusively stores encrypted biometric information locally on offline user cards, eliminating the risks of centralized data storage. This ensures a privacy-first approach to authentication, with sensitive information protected from intentional and systemic misuse.
Leveraging advanced facial recognition and deepfake detection, SNAPPASS enables scalable, secure, and rapid 1:1 user authentication without the need for an internet or network connection. By using proprietary card programming that encrypts and compresses biometric data to fit into a smart card, SNAPPASS allows legacy card infrastructure to upgrade to biometric authentication at a sustainable cost.

SNAPPASS
Solution Description
SNAPPASS is a next-generation 2FA access control solution that converges facial recognition with card-based access. By encrypting biometric data onto SNAPPIN cards, card owners have complete ownership over their data, enabling scalable and resilient biometric infrastructure that doesn't need a database or internet connection.
1. Enhanced Privacy Protection: Each user’s biometric data is encrypted exclusively onto their SNAPPIN card, processed locally only upon terminal activation, and immediately erased after authentication. By eliminating the storage of sensitive personal data, SNAPCHECK offers a scalable solution that safeguards identity privacy, providing institutions with peace of mind against threat actors.
2. Advanced Defense Against AI Threats: SNAPCHECK is designed as a formidable defense against AI-powered social engineering attacks. Equipped with a triple-camera HDR array and wide-angle optics, SNAPPASS reliably detects and identifies facial features even in the most challenging lighting conditions.
