Nearly one-third of the population in Yunlin County are first-tier industrial workers, mainly agricultural planting and fishery breeding. Through the inventory of various key program modules of scientific and technological agriculture and through service and product design, the six-tier digital system has been completed. It has been effectively improving the first-tier Industrial productivity and filling the gap in production instability, and receiving a solution for the lack of labor and the approval of the National Development Council Plan. This will also make Yunlin a place where cases of digital transformation and creation blooming. This service is introduced into multiple towns and villages in Yunlin County and 350 jobs have been created and about 320 million production value have been increased.The project won the 2022 “Smart City Innovation Application Awards".

The need of video surveillance has increased with the issues of campus, public places security and intelligent transportation. What’s more, high-resolution image, identification, analysis and AIoT applications are getting popular than before. People are strict in the performance of transmission and computing. Internet communication technology has entered a new era as well. The Irrigation Agency has designated the Zhudong Irrigation Area in Hsinchu as a demonstration site for the construction of a smart irrigation system. This system integrates hydrological sensing components, IoT transmission, and remote gate control technology. Key control points along the irrigation channels have been equipped with water level sensors, remote gate control systems, and surveillance cameras, incorporating cost-effective, low-power, and highly weather-resistant sensing technologies. Irrigation managers can utilize water level sensors to accurately monitor changes in water levels along the irrigation channels. Coupled with real-time imaging, they can remotely control the opening and closing of water gates, optimizing water distribution management and reducing water loss during transportation. This approach not only enhances irrigation efficiency but also minimizes the time and labor costs associated with on-site operations, increasing flexibility in personnel allocation. In response to the growing frequency of extreme weather events due to climate change, the Irrigation Agency is employing smart irrigation systems to enhance the overall allocation of agricultural water resources, strengthen disaster response capabilities, and provide critical data for informed decision-making.
