The Smart Dust Sensor technology is an innovative solution for integrating IoT networks into air quality monitoring. Developed collaboratively by the National Science and The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), in collaboration with Taiwan Instrument Research Institute (TIRI) and Taiwan Semiconductor Research Institute (TSRI) of NARLabs, and leading academic teams in Taiwan, this technology has successfully miniaturized gas sensors while achieving low power consumption and high sensitivity. Weigh in Motion is becoming widely adopted by many cities around the world to manage the access of heavy goods vehicles. Highway authorities are also using WiM as a tool to charge tolls by vehicles' weights and further prevent overweight vehicles to enter certain road sections. FETC International adopts pre-selection model and three gantry structure and deploys WiM sensors and equipment to collect vehicle data and then transmit data to computerized platform for weight management and send alerts to enforcement if a vehicle doesn't comply weight limits. ​
