It aims to achieve the goals of smoother road conditions and reduced accidents through intelligent traffic diagnosis. By utilizing intelligent transportation systems, the system automatically tracks vehicles, identifies vehicle types, predicts trajectories, and transforms the data into useful information. This assists in real-time interpretation and improvement of traffic engineering. This system is particularly crucial in Taiwan, where over 60% of traffic accidents occur at intersections. Through big data analysis, identifying issues and formulating solutions is possible, thereby lowering accident risks. This approach proves more effective than simple advocacy and alerts.

There are increasing demand for self-service and remote-control devices.Besides safety reason, it is also easier for customers to purchase tickets and obtain travel information, plus the added benefits of time saving and convenience. MiTAC’s Smart ticketing solution for tourism was implemented at “Hạ Long Bay” in Vietnam. Passengers can use self-service devices, such as the Ticket Vending Machines, kiosks and POS to purchase tickets, place orders, arrange trips and inquire for additional information. The operators can also utilize automated devices and information system to reduce human resources investment, strengthen operational efficiency, and improve service quality. Traffic approach warning system is the combination of smart detectors and LED warning signs. The intersection is divided into detection lanes and warning lanes. Smart detectors are installed on the detection lanes. When a vehicle enters the detection area, the signal is transmitted to activate the LED signs on the warning lane to warn drivers to slow down in advance.

The need of video surveillance has increased with the issues of campus, public places security and intelligent transportation. What’s more, high-resolution image, identification, analysis and AIoT applications are getting popular than before. People are strict in the performance of transmission and computing. Internet communication technology has entered a new era as well. The “MiAIOT x 5G Railway Safety Management System was developed based on MiTAC’s in house AIoT platform-“MiAIoT”, and will assist the digital transformation of Taiwan's rail industry in the future, including cloud-based train operating data exchange, real-time train warning system, AI equipment abnormality prediction, and feeding all these crucial information to a situation “war room”.

In recent years, the number of motor vehicle noise cases has increased, and it has been a concern for people in Taiwan. In order to protect the living environment and eliminate improper vehicle modifications, the Ministry of Environment has used acoustic camera technology for law enforcement since 2021. The system contains several scientific instruments, including a license plate recognition function that helps authorities identify noisy vehicles. Technology also improves inspection efficiency and quality of noisy vehicles. Existing roadside inspections require onsite noise measurement. The stationary noise test takes at least 20 minutes for each vehicle. Law enforcement using acoustic camera technology can simultaneously record videos, take photos, identify vehicles and complete noise measurements, to increase efficiency by a factor of 200. It is no longer necessary to use a large amount of manpower to carry out checks and inspections, greatly reducing labor costs.
