The “MiAIOT x 5G Railway Safety Management System was developed based on MiTAC’s in house AIoT platform-“MiAIoT”, and will assist the digital transformation of Taiwan's rail industry in the future, including cloud-based train operating data exchange, real-time train warning system, AI equipment abnormality prediction, and feeding all these crucial information to a situation “war room”.

The WEB PLC Air‑Conditioning Control System uses DI sensors to detect occupancy and temperature differences, adjusting indoor climate on demand to optimize building energy performance and support carbon‑reduction goals. The WEB PLC Office Lighting Control System combines card recognition with infrared sensing to maintain uninterrupted lighting when staff are present, then provides a five‑minute buffer before shutdown after work hours, with secondary detection to confirm departure. This precise energy management maximizes the value of every kilowatt. In response to the rapid transition into a super-aged society, Nantou County faces significant challenges due to its vast geographic area and the uneven and insufficient distribution of medical resources. In 2025, Nantou County launched the nation’s first “Home Medication Delivery Service System.” This innovative service allows elderly residents or their family members to apply and make appointments online. Licensed pharmacists then deliver medications directly to the patient’s home free of charge. It also reduces the caregiving burden caused by long travel distances and limited transportation options. Prof. Ming-Yen Lin’s Team – A Prediction Model for Type 2 Diabetes Complications Our research group develops a decision-support prediction model for type 2 diabetes complications using data from over 163,000 Taiwanese patients. Integrating age, HbA1c, and other dynamic factors, the model estimates long-term risks of major complications and mortality, visualizes future trends, and supports personalized care planning to improve disease management and outcomes.

Through the Omada Central platform, administrators can monitor network status and surveillance footage in real time and remotely troubleshoot issues, significantly improving operational efficiency and maintenance management. This project integrates cable TV systems, Civil IoT, and AI video recognition technology to build smart disaster prevention and site safety services. Centered on set-top boxes (STB) and intelligent sensing, the solution focuses on bridging the gap in real-time information and safety protection for elderly and rural populations. Through its wired network infrastructure, the system developed under this project is capable of delivering real-time disaster prevention information, including earthquakes, typhoons, and heavy rainfall alerts. In addition, AI-based recognition capabilities have been integrated into the system. Currently, the system has completed event recognition functions such as parcel placement and retrieval detection. It also performs analysis of human movement trajectories and abnormal group behavior detection. In the future, the system will be further expanded to identify dangerous situations such as violent behavior. Through this project, Taiwan Optical Platform (TOP) demonstrates the potential of integrating cable television networks with AI and IoT technologies to develop a platform for smart disaster prevention and public safety applications.

Carbon Star is a specialized greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory management platform developed by StarTrust Systems, offering enterprises extensive carbon management capabilities. The platform encompasses organizational greenhouse gas inventories (ISO 14064-1) and product carbon footprint inventories (ISO14067), featuring the most extensive functional modules to enable enterprises to effectively gather carbon emissions data throughout their operations. 1. The platform is equipped with calculation benchmarks for carbon emissions and the latest factor data, facilitating enterprises in promptly collecting and computing data. 2.
