Through matchmaking of public and private forests, enterprises can acquire forest-related data through hosting mechanisms. This includes metrics such as survival rate, tree height, carbon sequestration, and corresponding SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) indicators. Leveraging deep learning and image processing technology, CoCoTree transforms trees and forest landscapes into data, providing customers with highly accurate forest information. This includes metrics such as carbon emissions, tree growth status, and changes in the ecosystem.

In alignment with global sustainable tourism trends and Taiwan’s “2050 Net-Zero Emissions Pathway,” Nantou County launched the Nantou Sustainable Tourism Campaign (NSTC) in 2024 in partnership with National Chi Nan University. As the first local government in Taiwan to establish a comprehensive sustainable tourism framework, Nantou created NSTC as a platform for training, talent development, knowledge exchange, and strategic marketing to accelerate tourism transformation. NSTC is built on three core pillars. NSTC Talk enhances industry capacity through workshops, training programs, and forums. NSTC Criteria incorporates international sustainable tourism standards to develop localized evaluation guidelines and assess business sustainability maturity. NSTC Travel Guide promotes certified businesses and sustainable itineraries, encouraging responsible travel and green consumption. Through systematic carbon footprint assessments, Nantou has developed nine net-zero itineraries and twenty-three low-carbon routes, covering one- to three-day immersive experiences. These itineraries adopt the internationally recognized Gold Standard carbon offset mechanism to ensure measurable emission reduction. By integrating data-driven governance with green practices, NSTC positions Nantou as a leading model for sustainable tourism transformation and low-carbon regional development.

Nearly one-third of the population in Yunlin County are first-tier industrial workers, mainly agricultural planting and fishery breeding. Through the inventory of various key program modules of scientific and technological agriculture and through service and product design, the six-tier digital system has been completed. It has been effectively improving the first-tier Industrial productivity and filling the gap in production instability, and receiving a solution for the lack of labor and the approval of the National Development Council Plan. This will also make Yunlin a place where cases of digital transformation and creation blooming. This service is introduced into multiple towns and villages in Yunlin County and 350 jobs have been created and about 320 million production value have been increased.The project won the 2022 “Smart City Innovation Application Awards".

This project integrates cable TV systems, Civil IoT, and AI video recognition technology to build smart disaster prevention and site safety services. Centered on set-top boxes (STB) and intelligent sensing, the solution focuses on bridging the gap in real-time information and safety protection for elderly and rural populations. Through its wired network infrastructure, the system developed under this project is capable of delivering real-time disaster prevention information, including earthquakes, typhoons, and heavy rainfall alerts. In addition, AI-based recognition capabilities have been integrated into the system. Currently, the system has completed event recognition functions such as parcel placement and retrieval detection. It also performs analysis of human movement trajectories and abnormal group behavior detection. In the future, the system will be further expanded to identify dangerous situations such as violent behavior. Through this project, Taiwan Optical Platform (TOP) demonstrates the potential of integrating cable television networks with AI and IoT technologies to develop a platform for smart disaster prevention and public safety applications.

1.Special design of water metering structure for users of high-rise building and smart houses. 2.Multiple water meters are connected in series to share the construction cost, which is most in line with economic benefits. 3.Graphical presentation of water usage data helps users manage water consumption. 4.Combined with the alarms of abnormal conditions, if there is suspected water leakage or suspected reverse flow, the system will take the initiative to inform. 5.Assist in water and water conservation management, and help users formulate exclusive usage warning ranges.

Prof. Ming-Yen Lin’s Team – A Prediction Model for Type 2 Diabetes Complications Our research group develops a decision-support prediction model for type 2 diabetes complications using data from over 163,000 Taiwanese patients. Integrating age, HbA1c, and other dynamic factors, the model estimates long-term risks of major complications and mortality, visualizes future trends, and supports personalized care planning to improve disease management and outcomes.

The system developed by this project provides a smart solution for station including digital fence system, platform pedestrian flow analysis, animal tracking expelled system, track water situation analysis system and platform digital information signage. The platform comprehensively analyses the image of around the station, train coordinates, passenger entry and exit, and water depth etc. Which can be used for follow up review and improvement of abnormal events such as track intrusion, crowd congestion and road flooding to achieve optimal train operation configuration and class spacing control. And provide abnormal event warning and troubleshooting and passenger intelligence information services. After the integration of multiple subsystem through the IOC platform, the system will automatically alert an alarm to the traffic control center and announce the train near the area to remind the driver to pay attention to the situation and enhance the safety of the train and the people or cars in the area when the detection system alarms.

The “MiAIOT x 5G Railway Safety Management System was developed based on MiTAC’s in house AIoT platform-“MiAIoT”, and will assist the digital transformation of Taiwan's rail industry in the future, including cloud-based train operating data exchange, real-time train warning system, AI equipment abnormality prediction, and feeding all these crucial information to a situation “war room”.

InsAI: Beyond Traditional OCR. InsAI is an intelligent recognition system that allows AI to truly read and understand real-world documents. By utilizing GSS’s proprietary Computer Vision and patented multi-modal retrieval technologies, InsAI transforms document processing. We help enterprises eliminate repetitive manual entry and streamline verification, paving the way for paperless operations and ESG compliance.

The need of video surveillance has increased with the issues of campus, public places security and intelligent transportation. What’s more, high-resolution image, identification, analysis and AIoT applications are getting popular than before. People are strict in the performance of transmission and computing. Internet communication technology has entered a new era as well. To achieve intelligent service, zMEC ’s platform as service through Kubernetes-based architecture which can not only integrate with the third-party but also expand different AIoT software application modules, such as identification and analysis, electronic fence. Besides, the technology of edge computing can reduce the demand of video and audio data for cloud center computing access and network bandwidth resources, so as to make up for the problem of traditional cloud computing delay and unsafe transmission link.
