This project establishes a 5G private network in rural Tainan schools, introducing AR/VR gamified English teaching. Students engage in scenario-based games, simulating English conversations in virtual reality, fostering entertaining and interactive learning. The curriculum incorporates famous global landmarks and utilizes AR technology for checkpoint missions, enhancing student interest. Beyond English education, the initiative collaborates with the National Palace Museum, integrating AR/VR historical artifacts. Using 5G streaming, historical content is seamlessly integrated into campus teaching. The imbalance of agricultural production, sales and labor shortage have always been a huge challenge for farmers. The independent 5G private network with O-RAN effectively introduces affordable smart agricultural system through a leasing model, combining AI, unmanned vehicles, image recognition and other field information to upgrade smart farm production management system and increase the revenue.

“Chia-E Smart Patrol Car” utilizes AI image recognition and mobile edge computing technology to automatically compare license plate recognition results with stolen vehicles’ blacklist in real-time. If a match is found, patrol officers will be notified immediately by voice warning, so that they can stop the vehicle for investigation. By implementing technology, “Chia-E Smart Patrol Car” can improve the efficiency of investigation, maintain public safety, and maximize the effectiveness of patrolling.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs, Department of Industrial Technology has commissioned the Industrial Technology Research Institute's Center for Smart Sensing and System Technology to develop a "Composite Long-Term Air Quality Sensor." This sensor is capable of simultaneously measuring particulate matter (PM2.5), ozone (O3), carbon monoxide (CO), volatile organic compounds (VOC), and other air quality monitoring parameters. Also, the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) to develop a "Composite Water Quality Sensing System." This system enables simultaneous measurement and detection of parameters such as Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Suspended Solid Concentration (SS), Copper Ion (Cu2+) concentration, conductivity, pH value, temperature, and more.

In the past, human operation and judgment were required, but now technology assists people in handling water distribution work. Set up water level or flow sensing devices in important water supply channels and transmit the collected data to the information management platform. Using online information or mobile APPs, water stewards can instantly grasp the field water distribution to achieve the goals of saving manpower and accurately allocating water. Taking the research results of the Jianan Irrigation District as an example, water stewards management can save about 20 to 25% of water by allocating irrigation water. If it is combined with Smart irrigation system, it can save another 5% of water. Currently, Water Resources Department, MOEA continues to cooperate with National Science and Technology Council, Ministry of Agriculture to gradually expand to 3,000 hectares in the Jianan Irrigation District and 3,000 hectares in the Kaohsiung Irrigation District, and gradually promote Smart irrigation and water-saving management technology.

In recent years, the number of motor vehicle noise cases has increased, and it has been a concern for people in Taiwan. In order to protect the living environment and eliminate improper vehicle modifications, the Ministry of Environment has used acoustic camera technology for law enforcement since 2021. The system contains several scientific instruments, including a license plate recognition function that helps authorities identify noisy vehicles. Technology also improves inspection efficiency and quality of noisy vehicles. Existing roadside inspections require onsite noise measurement. The stationary noise test takes at least 20 minutes for each vehicle. Law enforcement using acoustic camera technology can simultaneously record videos, take photos, identify vehicles and complete noise measurements, to increase efficiency by a factor of 200. It is no longer necessary to use a large amount of manpower to carry out checks and inspections, greatly reducing labor costs.
