National Center for High-performance Computing (NCHC) cooperates with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Argonne National Laboratory to promote the application of smart metropolis with high-speed computers and AI Deep Learning to solve congestion problems in main cities. The project further extends to cooperating with National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) and TungHai University (THU), we successfully applied the AOT urban monitoring system and sensor analysis to environmental monitoring. In practice, the system was applied to the cooperation of the Taichung City Government and the Hsinchu City Government to promote the cloud IoT of smart cities to solve the issues of monitoring data convergence and big data application in urban data governance. The results of the first phase of this project including the construction and application of the AOT monitoring system, real-time environmental monitoring in Taichung City, and traffic congestion analysis in the Central Taiwan Science Park (CTSP). The analysis of the traffic congestion in the CTSP is based on the intersection information of CTSP as the experimental environment and using MIT's traffic flow simulation system, and the traffic flows analysis system jointly developed by NCHC and Taiwan Yuan Ze University. These two systems automatically analyze the traffic flow at intersections and learn how to optimize traffic signal allocation to alleviate traffic congestion during peak time.

To resolve problems (1.management inefficiency; 2.integration difficulty 3.cyber security concerns, and 4.low participative rate),New Taipei City Government rolled out a three-year project called “Smart Community App 2.0 Platform for Municipal Services Expansion and Public Participation in New Taipei City” to provide diverse community services and bring together citizens for making decisions as feedback for municipal affairs.The project involves 29 districts of New Taipei City and is planned by Information Management Center officials. Practitioners include local and central government, private sectors, and citizens. We focus on enhancing the users’ experience quality and fortifying the connection between citizens and the government. The Smart Community System also develops the useful functionalities such as mail and package management, public facility reservation, group buying, community announcement,gas degree filling etc. Achieved Outcomes: 1.Data integration & efficacy: integrates over 10 individual community-related operation systems into one interface. 2.Upgrade the mobile smart life:citizens can receive over 25 customized functionalities of daily community services,including food,clothing,housing,transportation,education,and entertainment. 3. Public transparency:The initiative encourages citizens to take part in community affairs and to express opinions and feedback to the government. Citizens can decide what they want and how civic things go as transparency displays.

Asia’s First Vehicle Noise Audit with Acoustic Camera Technology
In recent years, the number of motor vehicle noise cases has increased, and it has been a concern for people in Taiwan. In order to protect the living environment and eliminate improper vehicle modifications, the Ministry of Environment has used acoustic camera technology for law enforcement since 2021. The system contains several scientific instruments, including a license plate recognition function that helps authorities identify noisy vehicles. Technology also improves inspection efficiency and quality of noisy vehicles. Existing roadside inspections require onsite noise measurement. The stationary noise test takes at least 20 minutes for each vehicle. Law enforcement using acoustic camera technology can simultaneously record videos, take photos, identify vehicles and complete noise measurements, to increase efficiency by a factor of 200. It is no longer necessary to use a large amount of manpower to carry out checks and inspections, greatly reducing labor costs. The Acoustic Camera equipment equipment used in this exhibition is provided by OE Scientech Co., Ltd. They not only supply fixed or mobile sound-based photography equipment to Taipei City, Taichung City, Chiayi City, and Changhua County but also have extensive experience in assisting with technology enforcement operations.

Studies have shown that the amount of solar energy received by plants is highly correlated with the amount of evapotranspiration. Aeon Matrix’s brand new Yardian Max multifunctional smart controller — in combination with Apogee’s solar sensor (pyranometer) and the unique “Conditional Program” — provides a solution for precise irrigation based on accumulated solar radiation. An energy threshold (the amount of light accumulation desirable between irrigations) and a watering duration should be specified for each zone so that your irrigation system automatically adapts to any changes in weather and achieves automated irrigation. Users can easily specify these parameters based on the local sunlight condition, irrigation systems, and crop-growing stage through a web browser or smartphone app. Our controller and solar sensor both come with 4-year warranties. The system operates locally without relying on an internet connection. Data is encrypted and saved locally. Remote control and monitoring is possible when an internet network connection is available. With this smart and precision irrigation system, water usage, labor cost, and potential crop damage due to overwatering or insufficient irrigation are greatly reduced.
