Prof. Chia-Hsin Chen’s Team – An Innovative AI-Powered Tongue Vibration Training System This project develops an AI-driven tongue vibration training system for dysphagia and obstructive sleep apnea. It combines a safe, adjustable tongue device, AI motion tracking with real-time biofeedback, EEG-based cognitive monitoring, and AR-based gamified training to deliver personalized, engaging, and data-driven rehabilitation.

To establish a civil participation mechanism to widely gather opinions from all sectors, the National Development Council has established the "Just Transition Commission." The committee follows a principle of equal representation between governmental agencies and civil society. Members serve a term of two years. The government agency representatives on the committee are deputy ministers from ministries responsible for the 12 key strategies of the 2050 net-zero transition and related issues of just transition. Additionally, this year, multiple public consultation sessions are planned to gather current visions and expectations for a net-zero fair transition from all sectors, aiming to enhance public awareness of net-zero carbon emissions and fair transition.

In the public building sector, FET is developing integrated solutions for “Net-Zero and Disaster-Resilient Energy Storage.” Combining net-zero strategies with Energy Management Systems (EMS), FET deploys renewable energy, energy storage, and smart energy-saving mechanisms. This approach balances carbon reduction with power resilience, supporting the public sector in enhancing sustainability and disaster preparedness. A key achievement is the National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU) Gymnasium project, where FET implemented an advanced energy management platform integrating power monitoring, smart HVAC control, and renewable energy with storage systems. These efforts improved energy efficiency, provided a model for transitioning public buildings to net-zero, and earned the client Level 1+ Green Building certification. Looking ahead, FET will continue investing in net-zero buildings, energy storage, and resilient energy systems. Through collaboration with government, academia, and industry partners, FET aims to accelerate Taiwan’s progress toward sustainable development goals, advancing both net-zero emissions and disaster prevention.

In order to save the use of natural resources, implement resource recycling and reuse, reduce processing costs and reduce environmental load. We use the recycling processing technology to transfer the remaining cutting materials of the ALC body, as well as industrial by-products and domestic waste resources (waste glass) back to the ALC raw material for use. Actual testing of the product shows that the reuse technology is feasible, the quality is stable, and the efficiency of waste reduction and carbon reduction is high. Now It has obtained the environmental protection label from the Ministry of Environment and the green building materials label from the Ministry of Interior.

Prof. Ming-Yen Lin’s Team – A Prediction Model for Type 2 Diabetes Complications Our research group develops a decision-support prediction model for type 2 diabetes complications using data from over 163,000 Taiwanese patients. Integrating age, HbA1c, and other dynamic factors, the model estimates long-term risks of major complications and mortality, visualizes future trends, and supports personalized care planning to improve disease management and outcomes.
