Prof. Ming-Yen Lin’s Team – A Prediction Model for Type 2 Diabetes Complications Our research group develops a decision-support prediction model for type 2 diabetes complications using data from over 163,000 Taiwanese patients. Integrating age, HbA1c, and other dynamic factors, the model estimates long-term risks of major complications and mortality, visualizes future trends, and supports personalized care planning to improve disease management and outcomes.

In recent years, the number of motor vehicle noise cases has increased, and it has been a concern for people in Taiwan. In order to protect the living environment and eliminate improper vehicle modifications, the Ministry of Environment has used acoustic camera technology for law enforcement since 2021. The system contains several scientific instruments, including a license plate recognition function that helps authorities identify noisy vehicles. Technology also improves inspection efficiency and quality of noisy vehicles. Existing roadside inspections require onsite noise measurement. The stationary noise test takes at least 20 minutes for each vehicle. Law enforcement using acoustic camera technology can simultaneously record videos, take photos, identify vehicles and complete noise measurements, to increase efficiency by a factor of 200. It is no longer necessary to use a large amount of manpower to carry out checks and inspections, greatly reducing labor costs. The Acoustic Camera equipment equipment used in this exhibition is provided by OE Scientech Co., Ltd. They not only supply fixed or mobile sound-based photography equipment to Taipei City, Taichung City, Chiayi City, and Changhua County but also have extensive experience in assisting with technology enforcement operations.

In order to save the use of natural resources, implement resource recycling and reuse, reduce processing costs and reduce environmental load. We use the recycling processing technology to transfer the remaining cutting materials of the ALC body, as well as industrial by-products and domestic waste resources (waste glass) back to the ALC raw material for use. Actual testing of the product shows that the reuse technology is feasible, the quality is stable, and the efficiency of waste reduction and carbon reduction is high. Now It has obtained the environmental protection label from the Ministry of Environment and the green building materials label from the Ministry of Interior.

The technical solution of Foxtron Electric Bus combines domestic and international resources, each contributing its strengths： 1. It adopts Foxtron's self-developed VCU software, integrates and develops the EEA architecture for electric buses, and utilizes motors, batteries, and chassis suspension systems from international major manufacturers. In collaboration with domestic manufacturers, Foxtron designs and develops dedicated low-floor bus frames for chassis cooperation. 2. In the product design of electric buses, Foxtron identifies pain points in traditional buses and improves upon them. For example, traditional buses often have issues with rollover protection and numerous blind spots, as well as differential wheel rotation caused by wheelbase, leading to frequent traffic accidents due to visibility problems. To address these issues, Foxtron employs Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) and NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) analysis to verify the design of various systems and components. This ensures the overall strength of the vehicle body and chassis, enhances passenger safety, and incorporates features such as panoramic image display and an electronic wide-angle rearview mirror with a blind spot detection system to solve driver blind spot issues. Additionally, to alert pedestrians and other road users to the risk of differential wheel rotation, Model T projects prominent light beams onto the ground during turns, marking the danger zone.

CarbonClean Energy’s CO₂ electrolysis equipment E-Oak utilizes proprietary electrochemical conversion technology to directly transform carbon dioxide into high-value chemicals such as carbon monoxide, ethanol, and ethylene. This enables waste-gas reutilization while creating additional economic value. However, due to the outflow of young people from rural areas, an aging society, and global climate anomalies have made it difficult for agriculture to maintain stable yield and quality, and the international community has responded to the issue of carbon reduction. How to balance food security and environmental sustainability has become a major issue in the current agricultural transformation. Therefore, the Yunlin County Government promotes the agricultural creation service guidance team, discovers local DNA, combines traditional agriculture to carry out digital transformation of farms, effectively improves agricultural productivity, bridges the gap between labor shortage and unstable production, assists the agricultural industry in line with international carbon reduction trends and create low-carbon sustainable urban and rural happiness.The project won the 2023 Smart City Innovation Application Awards.

Extreme rainfall events have increased the frequency of flooding, creating an urgent need for timely and reliable monitoring of urban drainage systems. The Smart Water Monitoring solution deploys water-level sensors and communication devices within stormwater drainage networks to ensure continuous data transmission. Through a centralized platform with real-time visual indicators, authorities can quickly identify abnormal conditions. This solution strengthens urban disaster resilience, reduces manual inspections, and improves overall operational efficiency.
