Taichung City Government
Taichung: Smart-Driven, Sustainability-Led
With a population of 2.86 million, Taichung is not only Taiwan's second-largest city but has also been recognized by CNN as "Taiwan's Most Livable City." Home to the world's highest density precision machinery cluster—known as the "Golden Valley"—Taichung has emerged as a critical powerhouse for the semiconductor and high-tech industries.
As a distinguished CDP "A-List" city for climate action, Taichung is aggressively driving a dual transformation in "Digital" and "Net-Zero" development. We actively leverage AI technology to optimize urban governance, demonstrating exceptional soft power through initiatives ranging from smart transportation to the internationally acclaimed "Taichung Pass" digital service. With the completion of world-class landmarks such as the Taichung International Convention and Exhibition Center and the Taichung Green Museumbrary, Taichung seamlessly integrates cutting-edge technology, cultural aesthetics, and low-carbon living. It is a premier smart, livable capital embracing innovation and connecting global opportunities.
