The system forms a multi-layer architecture that unifies field communications, sensing, video capture, and edge analytics into a reliable and adaptive communication framework. At the field level, IP110H and IP503H Lite IP radios deliver instant voice communication and group coordination for frontline personnel. Sensors and cameras are connected through the AG260 AIoT Gateway, while the AS710 Wi-Fi 7 indoor access point provides high-quality Wi-Fi coverage in stations, platforms, and passenger areas to enhance traveler connectivity. Long-range, time-synchronized backhaul is supported by the SP250 Series, ensuring stable, high-throughput wireless links across trackside and outdoor environments. At the core, the zMEC edge-computing platform performs real-time AI video analytics, abnormal-event detection, and rapid data distribution to minimize latency and support mission-critical responses. Prof. Ming-Yen Lin’s Team – A Prediction Model for Type 2 Diabetes Complications Our research group develops a decision-support prediction model for type 2 diabetes complications using data from over 163,000 Taiwanese patients. Integrating age, HbA1c, and other dynamic factors, the model estimates long-term risks of major complications and mortality, visualizes future trends, and supports personalized care planning to improve disease management and outcomes.

Borderless Care extends professional healthcare to rural communities, offshore islands, and long-term care facilities. At its core, the IoMT Data Hub integrates medical-grade devices and seamlessly connects with HIS/EMR systems, enabling real-time cloud synchronization. This drives Clinical Efficiency by giving clinicians instant access to patient records and live vital data during video consultations—supporting faster, more accurate decision-making. Designed for the field, Ultimate Mobility adds military-grade protection with waterproof and shockproof durability, plus satellite connectivity to ensure reliable operation even in hard-to-reach areas.

To enhance facility management efficiency and visitor service quality in Nantou County’s scenic areas, the Nantou County Scenic Area Administration Office is implementing a Smart Management System. The system applies digital technologies to strengthen operations, safety management, and data-driven governance. It integrates maintenance and inspection records for key facilities such as trails and suspension bridges, establishing a centralized database. Through data analysis, authorities can monitor facility conditions, identify maintenance needs, and implement preventive maintenance strategies, reducing costs and improving operational stability. CCTV and smart sensors are gradually deployed in high-risk areas to enable real-time monitoring and anomaly alerts. During extreme events such as typhoons or earthquakes, managers can quickly assess infrastructure safety, improve emergency response efficiency, and reduce manual inspection workload. A QR Code-based smart reporting function allows visitors to instantly report facility issues. Reports are automatically recorded and assigned for follow-up, accelerating response time and enhancing visitor safety and service experience. Through smart management and data-driven decision-making, Nantou County is building a safer, more efficient, and sustainable scenic area management model, supporting smart tourism and long-term development.

This project is deployed in a large-scale fish farming area in southern Taiwan, where ponds are widely distributed and geographically fragmented, creating challenges for long-distance network connectivity and real-time surveillance. The solution utilizes fiber optic links as the backbone to ensure stable long-range transmission across the site. EAP610-Outdoor wireless access points are deployed to extend network coverage through a mesh architecture, effectively reducing the need for repetitive cabling. For surveillance, the system integrates an NVR4032H with InSight S345 and InSight S345ZI bullet cameras, delivering stable and reliable video transmission. Combined with PoE switches, this solution establishes a flexible, efficient, and reliable network and intelligent surveillance infrastructure tailored for aquaculture management.

The system developed by this project provides a smart solution for station including digital fence system, platform pedestrian flow analysis, animal tracking expelled system, track water situation analysis system and platform digital information signage. The platform comprehensively analyses the image of around the station, train coordinates, passenger entry and exit, and water depth etc. Which can be used for follow up review and improvement of abnormal events such as track intrusion, crowd congestion and road flooding to achieve optimal train operation configuration and class spacing control. And provide abnormal event warning and troubleshooting and passenger intelligence information services. After the integration of multiple subsystem through the IOC platform, the system will automatically alert an alarm to the traffic control center and announce the train near the area to remind the driver to pay attention to the situation and enhance the safety of the train and the people or cars in the area when the detection system alarms.

The iMADC-STD is an automated dispensing cabinet that provides a safe and accurate medication management solution in the pharmacy. It dispenses medication, controls inventory, manages user access, reduces time, and improves efficiency for the facility. ADC optimizes the dispensing process, reduces human error and workload for pharmacists and nurses, and truly improves drug management. Integration with EMR/HIS and synchronization with clinical orders. Multi-permission management using ID/RFID cards. Real-time tracking of medication inventory and access status.

During WirForce 2024, the largest LAN Party in Asia, the Omada business networking solution provided full network support for 1,400 BYOC players. Over four days, the network handled more than 6,000 wired devices and 800 wireless devices, with total data traffic exceeding 1,800TB, demonstrating exceptional performance and reliability. Through the Omada centralized cloud management platform, network administrators were able to monitor network status in real time, rapidly identify issues, and maintain high-speed, stable connectivity throughout the event. Key components included EAP773 Wi-Fi 7 access points, delivering BE11000 ultra-high-speed connections and seamless roaming, along with high-performance L2/L3 switches supporting 10G throughput and PoE power to ensure stable data transmission under extreme traffic loads. An OC300 hardware controller enabled real-time monitoring and flexible network management. By successfully addressing the challenges of ultra-high density and massive traffic demand, Omada and WirForce jointly delivered a premium esports networking experience.

The Track Safety Management System is primarily aimed at addressing safety concerns along the track. It provides real-time monitoring, statistics, and detection-triggered alerts for trackside environments including stations, level crossings, along the track, and slope areas. The goal of this management system is to establish early warning alerts and prevent accidents from causing damage. Through the intelligent AIOT recognition monitoring system, it detects and analyzes station pedestrian traffic, tracks pedestrians at level crossings, identifies passing vehicles and traffic flow, detects foreign objects at level crossings and activates alarms, monitors personnel lingering and debris along the track, conducts rockfall monitoring on slopes with a rain gauge, monitors the environmental conditions in equipment boxes, and oversees the operation status of level crossing equipment. The monitoring data and image information are transmitted to the management system platform for integrated management via fiber-optic networks, NBIOT, or mobile communication. Additionally, it provides central management personnel with real-time interpretation and remote control in case of anomalies.
