MiTAC’s Smart ticketing solution for tourism was implemented at “Hạ Long Bay” in Vietnam. Passengers can use self-service devices, such as the Ticket Vending Machines, kiosks and POS to purchase tickets, place orders, arrange trips and inquire for additional information. The operators can also utilize automated devices and information system to reduce human resources investment, strengthen operational efficiency, and improve service quality. In addition, the operators can utilize the data collected for big data analysis for precision marketing in the future.

Qualcomm Terrestrial Positioning Service (TPS) provides high-accuracy geolocation and wayfinding capabilities for mobile and industrial devices by leveraging nearby Wi-Fi, cellular base stations, and terrestrial signals such as Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE), enabling precise positioning virtually anywhere. It offers flexible integration options through software packages and APIs that can be easily incorporated across diverse hardware and platforms. Designed with battery efficiency in mind, intelligent algorithms support always-on or periodic cloud-based location updates, optimizing power consumption for different usage scenarios. This project integrates cable TV systems, Civil IoT, and AI video recognition technology to build smart disaster prevention and site safety services. Centered on set-top boxes (STB) and intelligent sensing, the solution focuses on bridging the gap in real-time information and safety protection for elderly and rural populations. Through its wired network infrastructure, the system developed under this project is capable of delivering real-time disaster prevention information, including earthquakes, typhoons, and heavy rainfall alerts. In addition, AI-based recognition capabilities have been integrated into the system. Currently, the system has completed event recognition functions such as parcel placement and retrieval detection. It also performs analysis of human movement trajectories and abnormal group behavior detection. In the future, the system will be further expanded to identify dangerous situations such as violent behavior. Through this project, Taiwan Optical Platform (TOP) demonstrates the potential of integrating cable television networks with AI and IoT technologies to develop a platform for smart disaster prevention and public safety applications.

At the same time, we place pedestrian safety at the core. In response to the “pedestrian hell” issue, the system supports pedestrian signal control—such as extending pedestrian green time or inserting additional phases—and works in tandem with smart intersection sensing devices to proactively protect every step pedestrians take while crossing the street.

However, due to the outflow of young people from rural areas, an aging society, and global climate anomalies have made it difficult for agriculture to maintain stable yield and quality, and the international community has responded to the issue of carbon reduction. How to balance food security and environmental sustainability has become a major issue in the current agricultural transformation. Therefore, the Yunlin County Government promotes the agricultural creation service guidance team, discovers local DNA, combines traditional agriculture to carry out digital transformation of farms, effectively improves agricultural productivity, bridges the gap between labor shortage and unstable production, assists the agricultural industry in line with international carbon reduction trends and create low-carbon sustainable urban and rural happiness.The project won the 2023 Smart City Innovation Application Awards.
