To reduce conflict traffic flow and improve road safety, intelligence technology equipments (e.g., vehicle detectors, Changeable Message Sign (CMS), Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), actuated signal control) were installed in 180-degree turning road on the District Road No. 107-1 in Wulai District, New Taipei City. If vehicle detectors are activated by a large vehicle, signal control system will have following processes: (1) activate signalized control to this road section; (2) give priority to this large vehicle by designating green light to its direction; and (3) assign red phase to another direction. This process can make sure large vehicle can go through the curvy road section smoothly, safely and efficiently.

airaTrack is a comprehensive personnel tracking system that utilizes AI algorithms developed by our team to extract features from both the "face and figure." It generates unique biometric IDs with a recognition accuracy of up to 99%, all without the need for registering facial data, addressing privacy concerns. Capable of cross-camera searches and matching 10,000 faces per second, it significantly enhances the efficiency of traditional manual matching processes and increases search efficiency and accuracy by 97% enabling automatic path tracking of personnel in the field. The system also generates investigation reports for evidential preservation.

In order to enhance the efficiency of irrigation water management in Hsinchu, the Irrigation Agency (IA) applies low-power sensors, remote control systems of water gates, and gate inspection systems to the irrigation management of the Zhudong Canal. The IA combines water gauges with the low-power NB IoT transmission module to monitor the real-time water level. Meanwhile, with the remote control systems of water gates, the real-time opening and closing of water gates can be operated through the "Platform of IA for Remote Monitoring and Management of Water Gates", making the operation of irrigation management more labor-saving and convenient. In addition, installing NFC tag cards allows to fill out the information and transmit the inspection results of water gates through an inspection APP, enhancing the efficiency of gate management.

2022 GO SMART Award (GSA), entering its 4th year. Over the past 3 terms, more than 120 outstanding projects have been submitted from more than 30 cities (e.g. Amsterdam, Da Nang, Gdynia, Moscow, Prague, Taipei, etc.). This year GSA attracted 42 projects from over 20 cities. Here are the 4 categories of criteria for GSA panelists’ assessment: Cross-domain, Impact, Functionality and Innovation. This award aims to highlight the success of teamwork through collaboration, especially for teams that demonstrated diversity with stakeholders’ engagement from different domains. GO SMART Award invites several international smart city experts to serve as judges. After diversified and professional review, projects were selected to the second-round evaluation of the online pitching. This year GSA have 3 winners, and 2 special awards. The “I3 Systems and the City of Los Angeles" from the US; "Taipei Urban Intelligence Center" from Taiwan and "Qlue Smart City Project: Alam Sutera Intelligent Mobility System" from Indonesia are the winners. "New Taipei City Virtual Ward Platform" from New Taipei City Information Management Center gets the Promising City Project Special Award and "Remote Services for Assistive Technology Amidst the Pandemic" from New Taipei City Social Welfare Department wins Human Centric Special Award this year.

Equipped with an ability to generate road alignments, cross sections, terrain, and the ability to position models and assign traffic and generate traffic movement within VR space; the software can help you give a real-time presentation for comparing design alternatives and stakeholder consultation as the Visual Options tools and presentation features will do all the tricks. As various types of high-level real-time simulation including driving simulation, daylight simulation, and traffic simulation are feasible, the software makes the lives of all engineers engaged in the work of design, development, and research easier.

The scientific verification of ocean carbon sinks and marine oil spill pollution incidents are the major problems for carbon neutrality. Oil spills will destroy the marine ecological environment and threaten the development of the marine industry and tourism. The ocean carbon sinks are difficult to scientifically verify. To obtain data through accurate verification, this project uses a solar unmanned boat as a vehicle to solve the two major problems of carbon sinks exploration and oil removal. Solar ocean carbon sinks detection and removal of oil stains boat can bring multiple economic benefits: 1. Scientifically verify ocean carbon sinks and convert them into voluntary carbon reduction certificates.

River dust from the region between the Daan River and Dajia River basins along Provincial Highway No. 1 in Taichung to the estuary has a wide impact on the surrounding area. Over the years, manual inspections, satellite imagery and other techniques have been employed to determine exposed locations. However, due to factors such as gravel, light source, and resolution, image analysis cannot be used to accurately identify gravel or sand sources. Even if drone aerial photography is used, it still takes time to manually select and calculate sand sources. To quickly and effectively monitor potential river dust locations, the "AI Sand Source Identification System" was developed to establish a drone database for the automatic marking and positioning of sand sources and their respective areas. Moreover, in conjunction with the "River Dust AI Smart Protection Network", we can reduce the harm of river dust to the public and make response operations more intelligent.
