Yunlin County Government is dedicated to establishing a human-centric smart agriculture, providing services for digital and green transformation to overcome industry challenges and climate change. People collaborate with machines, automation equipment, and computers to enhance industrial productivity by using information technology. Simultaneously, it promotes Intelligence Augmentation (IA), fostering the growth of industry personnel capabilities. To accelerate agricultural transformation, solutions are developed with experts in various fields of agriculture and livestock. Through sharing successful case studies, the aim is to guide industry stakeholders to embrace new knowledge and technologies. Additionally, counseling teams assist farmer groups in transitioning towards a smart agriculture concept that combines 'smart technology' and the 'net-zero emission' approach. The development focuses on creating a future agriculture model primarily based on automation and AI, striving for efficiency, quality, and Intelligent Automation (IA).The project won the 2024 Smart City Innovation Application Awards.

Prof. Ming-Yen Lin’s Team – A Prediction Model for Type 2 Diabetes Complications Our research group develops a decision-support prediction model for type 2 diabetes complications using data from over 163,000 Taiwanese patients. Integrating age, HbA1c, and other dynamic factors, the model estimates long-term risks of major complications and mortality, visualizes future trends, and supports personalized care planning to improve disease management and outcomes.

What’s more, high-resolution image, identification, analysis and AIoT applications are getting popular than before. People are strict in the performance of transmission and computing. Internet communication technology has entered a new era as well. To achieve intelligent service, zMEC ’s platform as service through Kubernetes-based architecture which can not only integrate with the third-party but also expand different AIoT software application modules, such as identification and analysis, electronic fence. Besides, the technology of edge computing can reduce the demand of video and audio data for cloud center computing access and network bandwidth resources, so as to make up for the problem of traditional cloud computing delay and unsafe transmission link. It meets the need of high frequency bandwidth and low latency, and to satisfy the needs of information security and privacy protection.

DeltaGrid® low-carbon emission energy solution focuses on the four major perspectives of energy creation, energy storage, energy control, and energy saving. It integrates solar energy, energy storage, EV chargers, energy management, as well as energy saving software and hardware products to provide a practical transformation solution that helps strengthen grid resilience, optimize energy dispatching, enhance renewable energy utilization, and achieve cost and energy saving, carbon emission reduction, and net zero sustainability goals. The Smart Water Monitoring solution deploys water-level sensors and communication devices within stormwater drainage networks to ensure continuous data transmission. Through a centralized platform with real-time visual indicators, authorities can quickly identify abnormal conditions. This solution strengthens urban disaster resilience, reduces manual inspections, and improves overall operational efficiency.

To establish a civil participation mechanism to widely gather opinions from all sectors, the National Development Council has established the "Just Transition Commission." The committee follows a principle of equal representation between governmental agencies and civil society. Members serve a term of two years. The government agency representatives on the committee are deputy ministers from ministries responsible for the 12 key strategies of the 2050 net-zero transition and related issues of just transition. In addition, the members of the civil society include citizen groups focused on environmental, labor, and indigenous issues, as well as representatives from social enterprises and experts/scholars in the field of economic industries. The committee has four working groups: an academic group, a strategic review group, an issue identification group and an influence group. The public-private partnership will work together to promote a net-zero fair transition. Additionally, this year, multiple public consultation sessions are planned to gather current visions and expectations for a net-zero fair transition from all sectors, aiming to enhance public awareness of net-zero carbon emissions and fair transition.
