By utilizing intelligent transportation systems, the system automatically tracks vehicles, identifies vehicle types, predicts trajectories, and transforms the data into useful information. This assists in real-time interpretation and improvement of traffic engineering. This system is particularly crucial in Taiwan, where over 60% of traffic accidents occur at intersections. Through big data analysis, identifying issues and formulating solutions is possible, thereby lowering accident risks. This approach proves more effective than simple advocacy and alerts.

Dr. Hung-Lung Lin’s Team – An Auxiliary Assessment System for Coronary Heart Disease Identification In response to population aging and the younger onset of coronary heart disease (CHD), this study develops an AI-based auxiliary CHD screening system integrated into a mobile app. Grounded in traditional Chinese medicine tongue–heart theory, the system analyzes sublingual vascular images using reflection removal, image segmentation, and a multi-head attention deep learning model. Users can obtain accurate, reproducible screening results and health recommendations within 7–20 seconds using only a smartphone, enabling convenient and cost-effective preliminary CHD assessment.

Extreme rainfall events have increased the frequency of flooding, creating an urgent need for timely and reliable monitoring of urban drainage systems. The Smart Water Monitoring solution deploys water-level sensors and communication devices within stormwater drainage networks to ensure continuous data transmission. Through a centralized platform with real-time visual indicators, authorities can quickly identify abnormal conditions. Prof. Ming-Chung Chou’s Team – Intelligent X-ray Imaging System Traditional X-ray imaging depends on experienced radiographers to balance image quality and radiation dose. Automatic exposure control may misjudge patients with poor positioning or metallic implants, increasing radiation by about 20%. This study develops an AI-based X-ray imaging system with non-contact body thickness measurement. By integrating patient height and weight, the system automatically determines optimal exposure parameters, ensuring stable image quality while reducing unnecessary radiation and cancer risk.

This solution, named "Mission Critical Network," is designed to provide enterprises, rescue teams, defense and security organizations, and more with intelligent applications utilizing 5G private networks, mobile satellite communication, drones, and other technologies. It addresses challenges such as remote inspections, equipment patrols, major disaster relief, and national security needs. With its rapid and efficient deployment capabilities and high mobility, the solution is capable of offering a stable, high-speed, and secure private network in situations where communication stability is severely compromised due to difficulties in reaching locations, numerous devices, extreme disasters, or tense regional conditions. This project is deployed in a large-scale fish farming area in southern Taiwan, where ponds are widely distributed and geographically fragmented, creating challenges for long-distance network connectivity and real-time surveillance. The solution utilizes fiber optic links as the backbone to ensure stable long-range transmission across the site. EAP610-Outdoor wireless access points are deployed to extend network coverage through a mesh architecture, effectively reducing the need for repetitive cabling. For surveillance, the system integrates an NVR4032H with InSight S345 and InSight S345ZI bullet cameras, delivering stable and reliable video transmission. Combined with PoE switches, this solution establishes a flexible, efficient, and reliable network and intelligent surveillance infrastructure tailored for aquaculture management.
