The Smart Dust Sensor technology is an innovative solution for integrating IoT networks into air quality monitoring. Developed collaboratively by the National Science and The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), in collaboration with Taiwan Instrument Research Institute (TIRI) and Taiwan Semiconductor Research Institute (TSRI) of NARLabs, and leading academic teams in Taiwan, this technology has successfully miniaturized gas sensors while achieving low power consumption and high sensitivity. Its core features include exceptional sensitivity and stability, enabling real-time monitoring of multiple gases. Moreover, the fully domestically developed technology reduces dependence on imports and offers cost-effective sensor modules, driving the widespread adoption of air quality monitoring devices. The Smart Dust Sensor has undergone extensive field testing and third-party certifications across various applications. These include environmental monitoring stations (e.g., Taichung Dali Station), public recreational areas (e.g., odor monitoring in public restrooms), and industrial settings (e.g., semiconductor facilities and wastewater treatment plants). With its proven accuracy, reliability, and traceable data, the technology plays a key role in advancing air quality monitoring solutions, facilitating the development of smart cities, and contributing to improved environmental management.

These modular microgrids reduce reliance on imported fossil fuels, ensuring stable green energy supply for agriculture, aquaculture, and local communities. The project is expected to cut carbon emissions by 800 metric tons annually, with over 50% renewable energy self-sufficiency at aquaculture centers and demonstration farms. Meanwhile, livestock farms, offices, and dormitories now operate on 100% green energy, significantly lowering both energy costs and environmental impact. Billion Electric Group provides end-to-end energy solutions, from R&D and manufacturing to system integration and deployment. The project features MIT ( Made In Taiwan) renewable energy technologies, including Billion’s Fusio series BESS, Giga series PV inverters, and an AI-driven EMS (Energy Management System). The system enables real-time power optimization, bidirectional energy transmission, and cloud-based monitoring platform, significantly enhancing grid stability and energy efficiency.

The technical solution of Foxtron Electric Bus combines domestic and international resources, each contributing its strengths: 1. It adopts Foxtron's self-developed VCU software, integrates and develops the EEA architecture for electric buses, and utilizes motors, batteries, and chassis suspension systems from international major manufacturers. In collaboration with domestic manufacturers, Foxtron designs and develops dedicated low-floor bus frames for chassis cooperation. 2. In the product design of electric buses, Foxtron identifies pain points in traditional buses and improves upon them. For example, traditional buses often have issues with rollover protection and numerous blind spots, as well as differential wheel rotation caused by wheelbase, leading to frequent traffic accidents due to visibility problems. To address these issues, Foxtron employs Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) and NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) analysis to verify the design of various systems and components. This ensures the overall strength of the vehicle body and chassis, enhances passenger safety, and incorporates features such as panoramic image display and an electronic wide-angle rearview mirror with a blind spot detection system to solve driver blind spot issues. Additionally, to alert pedestrians and other road users to the risk of differential wheel rotation, Model T projects prominent light beams onto the ground during turns, marking the danger zone.

Beyond English education, the initiative collaborates with the National Palace Museum, integrating AR/VR historical artifacts. Using 5G streaming, historical content is seamlessly integrated into campus teaching. The project not only enhances learning outcomes in rural junior high schools, reducing the urban-rural digital gap, but also has the potential for nationwide expansion. Nearly one-third of the population in Yunlin County are first-tier industrial workers, mainly agricultural planting and fishery breeding. Through the inventory of various key program modules of scientific and technological agriculture and through service and product design, the six-tier digital system has been completed. It has been effectively improving the first-tier Industrial productivity and filling the gap in production instability, and receiving a solution for the lack of labor and the approval of the National Development Council Plan. This will also make Yunlin a place where cases of digital transformation and creation blooming. This service is introduced into multiple towns and villages in Yunlin County and 350 jobs have been created and about 320 million production value have been increased.The project won the 2022 “Smart City Innovation Application Awards".
