Prof. Ming-Chung Chou’s Team – Intelligent X-ray Imaging System Traditional X-ray imaging depends on experienced radiographers to balance image quality and radiation dose. Automatic exposure control may misjudge patients with poor positioning or metallic implants, increasing radiation by about 20%. This study develops an AI-based X-ray imaging system with non-contact body thickness measurement. By integrating patient height and weight, the system automatically determines optimal exposure parameters, ensuring stable image quality while reducing unnecessary radiation and cancer risk.

IISI has a number of solutions for smart image processing, the main application areas are smart transportation, smart disaster prevention, security monitoring, etc. The main products include iTrafficView and iSurveillance. iTrafficView is a server-based image recognition detection system that receive real-time video streaming from on-site network cameras and instantly performs image recognition and event detection to provide monitoring services immediately. Furthermore, the system records related identification and detection data for consecutive statistical and analysis procedure. The advanced hybrid DVR and intelligent management platform offers a one-stop solution to enhance both analog, digital, and IP convergence. "iSurveillance" is an intelligent Hybrid DVR that supports analog and IP cameras. SOYAL Smart Parking Lighting System integrates RFID and infrared sensing to automatically pre‑light target spaces upon vehicle entry, while dynamic “lights follow the car, off when it passes” guidance ensures safety, efficiency, and energy savings for low‑carbon smart parking. The WEB PLC Air‑Conditioning Control System uses DI sensors to detect occupancy and temperature differences, adjusting indoor climate on demand to optimize building energy performance and support carbon‑reduction goals. The WEB PLC Office Lighting Control System combines card recognition with infrared sensing to maintain uninterrupted lighting when staff are present, then provides a five‑minute buffer before shutdown after work hours, with secondary detection to confirm departure. This precise energy management maximizes the value of every kilowatt. Together, these three systems highlight the advantages of smart building automation—delivering comfort, safety, and sustainability.

EZESG by Trade-Van Information Services Co. helps enterprises systematically complete organizational greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories in accordance with ISO 14064-1, strengthening carbon management and enhancing transparency in information disclosure. The system enables rapid establishment of an emissions source database by integrating data from energy consumption, raw materials, and operational activities. Through AI-powered OCR, it automatically identifies information from utility bills such as fuel, water, and electricity. It also incorporates Google Maps mileage calculations and taxi carbon emission models to estimate emissions from transportation activities. With built-in intelligent calculation models, the platform automatically consolidates Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions data, reducing manual errors while improving data consistency and reliability. The system also supports one-click generation of GHG inventory reports and supporting documentation, simplifying procedures and shortening preparation time. Through digitalization and intelligent management, it helps enterprises respond to international regulatory requirements and steadily progress toward net-zero emissions and sustainability goals.

The Taichung Local Tax Bureau has launched the "Local Tax AI Anywhere Door," a 24/7 intelligent service platform powered by AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP). By integrating local, national, and cross-agency data, the system utilizes Deep Learning (BERT) and a specialized tax knowledge base to provide precise, multi-turn conversational consultations. The platform also features online applications, tax simulations, e-payments, and live text/video support, drastically reducing processing time and costs for citizens. To date, it has served over 440,000 cases with 99% accuracy and over 90% satisfaction, effectively lowering transportation-related carbon emissions and demonstrating the power of human-centric digital governance.

In the evolving architecture of smart cities, AI-powered smart parking systems have transformed from standalone parking management tools into critical nodes within intelligent urban operations. By integrating AIoT sensing, image recognition, and cloud platforms, the system enables real-time parking occupancy monitoring, license plate recognition, and traffic flow prediction, enhancing traffic efficiency and optimizing road resource allocation. It connects people, vehicles, facilities, and payment processes into a unified ecosystem, streamlining circulation and improving user experience. By incorporating EV charging infrastructure, the platform supports green energy dispatch and low-carbon transformation. During WirForce 2024, the largest LAN Party in Asia, the Omada business networking solution provided full network support for 1,400 BYOC players. Over four days, the network handled more than 6,000 wired devices and 800 wireless devices, with total data traffic exceeding 1,800TB, demonstrating exceptional performance and reliability. Through the Omada centralized cloud management platform, network administrators were able to monitor network status in real time, rapidly identify issues, and maintain high-speed, stable connectivity throughout the event. Key components included EAP773 Wi-Fi 7 access points, delivering BE11000 ultra-high-speed connections and seamless roaming, along with high-performance L2/L3 switches supporting 10G throughput and PoE power to ensure stable data transmission under extreme traffic loads. An OC300 hardware controller enabled real-time monitoring and flexible network management.
