Agriculture is the main industry in Yunlin County. Nearly 1/3 of the population are workers in the primary industry. In addition, more than 60% of the population in the related industry chain is engaged in agriculture-related businesses. However, due to the outflow of young people from rural areas, an aging society, and global climate anomalies have made it difficult for agriculture to maintain stable yield and quality, and the international community has responded to the issue of carbon reduction. How to balance food security and environmental sustainability has become a major issue in the current agricultural transformation. Therefore, the Yunlin County Government promotes the agricultural creation service guidance team, discovers local DNA, combines traditional agriculture to carry out digital transformation of farms, effectively improves agricultural productivity, bridges the gap between labor shortage and unstable production, assists the agricultural industry in line with international carbon reduction trends and create low-carbon sustainable urban and rural happiness.The project won the 2023 Smart City Innovation Application Awards.

This solution, named "Mission Critical Network," is designed to provide enterprises, rescue teams, defense and security organizations, and more with intelligent applications utilizing 5G private networks, mobile satellite communication, drones, and other technologies. It addresses challenges such as remote inspections, equipment patrols, major disaster relief, and national security needs. Prof. Chia-Hsin Chen’s Team – An Innovative AI-Powered Tongue Vibration Training System This project develops an AI-driven tongue vibration training system for dysphagia and obstructive sleep apnea. It combines a safe, adjustable tongue device, AI motion tracking with real-time biofeedback, EEG-based cognitive monitoring, and AR-based gamified training to deliver personalized, engaging, and data-driven rehabilitation.

CarbonClean Energy’s CO₂ electrolysis equipment E-Oak utilizes proprietary electrochemical conversion technology to directly transform carbon dioxide into high-value chemicals such as carbon monoxide, ethanol, and ethylene. This enables waste-gas reutilization while creating additional economic value. Unlike thermochemical carbon utilization processes that require high temperature, high pressure, and hydrogen input, E-Oak operates under ambient temperature and pressure. It only requires carbon dioxide and water to drive the conversion reaction, providing enhanced operational safety. In addition, E-Oak synchronizes operational data with the cloud, allowing users to remotely monitor equipment performance. Its automatic equipment diagnostic reporting function further facilitates smarter carbon management.

EdgeLink-X is an AI-driven heterogeneous edge-network platform built to provide resilient, low-latency connectivity for intelligent transportation and railway environments. At the field level, IP110H and IP503H Lite IP radios deliver instant voice communication and group coordination for frontline personnel. Sensors and cameras are connected through the AG260 AIoT Gateway, while the AS710 Wi-Fi 7 indoor access point provides high-quality Wi-Fi coverage in stations, platforms, and passenger areas to enhance traveler connectivity. Long-range, time-synchronized backhaul is supported by the SP250 Series, ensuring stable, high-throughput wireless links across trackside and outdoor environments. At the core, the zMEC edge-computing platform performs real-time AI video analytics, abnormal-event detection, and rapid data distribution to minimize latency and support mission-critical responses. Multi-payment bus validator takes smart card, mobile payment for bus fare. The transaction data transfer through designated channel to the backend system, smart card issuers, mobile payment operators to perform clearance process. All the validators comply with operation standards and receive certification from smart card issuers, mobile payment operators and TTIA.

Prof. Ming-Chung Chou’s Team – Intelligent X-ray Imaging System Traditional X-ray imaging depends on experienced radiographers to balance image quality and radiation dose. Automatic exposure control may misjudge patients with poor positioning or metallic implants, increasing radiation by about 20%. This study develops an AI-based X-ray imaging system with non-contact body thickness measurement. By integrating patient height and weight, the system automatically determines optimal exposure parameters, ensuring stable image quality while reducing unnecessary radiation and cancer risk.

The award-winning service application: 【Smart Campus - Smart Library, Healthcare Management System】to realize the independent management of school library and health care, it also greatly reduces the load on the schools’ administration, achieve the goal of sharing library and healthcare resources between teachers and students, through the collection and analysis of the big data in the background system, it will be more accurate for students’ recording values, AI predictive models can also help the govermant authorities the effectively assess and make the timely decisions, so far, all schools have been deployed and put into operation, benefiting about 25,000 teachers and students from 125 schools, the system is also launched simultaneously in all the Digital Opportunity Center (DOC), implement community cultural construction and connection; In future, we will continue to improve our services as a core: friendship between teachers and students, feelings between parents".

Integrate dynamic (static) digital map data and network map services, also improve the efficiency of public construction review.

1.Integrate smart water meters, wireless communication interfaces, and online management system to supply a comprehensive solution. 2.Suitable for management of water supply in cities and water consumption in areas like schools, and shopping malls, etc. 3.Real-time monitoring: Integrating GIS information, the system can help users to seize instant water data. 4.Data Analysis: Integrating comparison of water consumption in multiple durations and water balance application to improve leakage and decrease Non Revenue Water(NRW). 5.Abnormal Alarm: With configurable setting of upper and lower limits for water consumption, the system will send a warning message to users when the amount exceeds the acceptable range. 6.Individual Billing: For shopping malls and dorm rooms, the solution can assist managers to independently calculate consumption amount for each vender and household, making billing fair and reasonable.

Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET) is committed to corporate sustainability and net-zero transformation. By integrating telecommunications with digital technologies, FET helps industries and society reduce carbon emissions. In the public building sector, FET is developing integrated solutions for “Net-Zero and Disaster-Resilient Energy Storage.” Combining net-zero strategies with Energy Management Systems (EMS), FET deploys renewable energy, energy storage, and smart energy-saving mechanisms. This approach balances carbon reduction with power resilience, supporting the public sector in enhancing sustainability and disaster preparedness. A key achievement is the National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU) Gymnasium project, where FET implemented an advanced energy management platform integrating power monitoring, smart HVAC control, and renewable energy with storage systems. These efforts improved energy efficiency, provided a model for transitioning public buildings to net-zero, and earned the client Level 1+ Green Building certification. Looking ahead, FET will continue investing in net-zero buildings, energy storage, and resilient energy systems. Through collaboration with government, academia, and industry partners, FET aims to accelerate Taiwan’s progress toward sustainable development goals, advancing both net-zero emissions and disaster prevention.

Traffic approach warning system is the combination of smart detectors and LED warning signs. The intersection is divided into detection lanes and warning lanes. Smart detectors are installed on the detection lanes. When a vehicle enters the detection area, the signal is transmitted to activate the LED signs on the warning lane to warn drivers to slow down in advance.
